In this tutorial I will be teaching you how to make a sticky note tutorial like the one below, using Adobe Photoshop:

Step 1: New Document
Start off by opening up Photoshop and make a new document using the settings below:

Now you can fill the background in with a color or use this cork background I used:

Step 2: Sticky Note
Take out your pen tool and use the settings below:

Now on a new layer make a shape similar to the one I have below. You may use my anchor points as a guideline.

Now fill in the shape by right-clicking on it and selecting “Fill Shape”. Fill it in with any color for now but we will be adding a gradient later.

Now add a gradient overlay to the shape by doube-clicking on the right side of the layer in the layers palette. Use the settings I used below for your gradient overlay.

The gradient goes from #ffea98 to #f8df4a.
Now let’s add the drop shadow. Double-click the right side of the sticky note layer in the layers pallete and click Drop Shadow. Use these settings:

Your sticky note should now look something similar to this:

If you have something similar to this, then you’re on the right track! Now let’s go to the next step and add some text.
Step 3: Adding Text
Now let’s add some simple text to our new sticky note. Type in whatever you want. I rotated my text to the right a few degrees to go with the flow of the sticky note. The font I used is called Journal. My final result is:

And that’s it! You’re finally done. Now you have your finished sticky note.
